Hi there! I'm Anna Marie (she/her), licensed professional counselor. I offer psychotherapy for individuals living in the Denver Metro area and all across Colorado.
My passion for mental health developed during my work as a positive peer mentor for young adults with developmental disabilities and later as a behavioral therapist for children and adolescents diagnosed with autism. Working with these populations and their families inspired me to become more involved in the mental health field and I earned my Master's in clinical mental health counseling.
Since becoming a psychotherapist, I have dedicated my career to treating survivors of domestic violence and those struggling with symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. I enjoy helping others rediscover their sense of identity and confidence after trauma and other life transitions.
I know first-hand how life-changing therapy can be. My hope is to help others on their own unique paths to healing.
Outside of therapy sessions, I enjoy yoga, walking my dog, Finn, riding my bike, napping, cooking, going to Avs games, reading, watching scary movies, and playing video games.

My Philosophy

Starting therapy is courageous. I recognize how meaningful it is to take this step, so my goal is to help you feel heard and understood.
Rather than viewing you by a set of problems you are facing, I aim to help you develop a stronger sense of self-trust, lean into your strengths, and begin to view yourself as whole and separate from your problems.
As a multiracial therapist, I am committed to holding space for multicultural issues and welcome individuals from all walks of life.

My Approach

My approach to therapy is collaborative, relaxed, and non-judgmental. During our initial sessions, I will work with you to establish a sense of comfort and safety and together we will create a treatment plan that meets your needs.
I view therapy through a narrative and existential lens. By exploring different perspectives, we aim to shift from focusing solely on problems to also highlighting resilience and meaning. I also incorporate mindfulness, grounding, and relaxation techniques to help support the mind/body connection.
